The UAE revealed its first multi-section five-year tourist visa during the primary Cabinet meeting of the year.

On Monday, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said the visa would permit tourists numerous passages into the country over five years. It isn’t clear if there will be a visa application fee and no different subtleties have yet been discharged.

At present, tourists can visit the UAE with a free multiple entry visa for as long as 90 days, from the date of entry.

Sheik Mohammed said the visa, which will be presented inside the next four months, intends to set up the UAE as a “major global tourism destination” and is a piece of more extensive designs to set up the country for the next 50 years of development.

The Emirates currently invites around 21 million guests every year, he said.

“The year 2020 will be different because it is the year of preparation for the next 50, the year in which we design the future of the Emirates,” he added on Twitter.

Dubai didn’t hit its objective to pull in 20 million visitors by 2020, in spite of a solid exhibition in boosting the quantity of Chinese, Omani and Filipino visitors as of late. The latest figures indicated it was on course for around 16 million, having hit 12 million in the initial nine months, in the wake of recording a fall in Indian, British and Russian visitors.

During the Cabinet meeting, the country’s ministers assessed a year ago’s accomplishments and endorsed the new tourist visa. Sheik Mohammed said the visa would be accessible to all nationalities.

The move is relied upon to give a lift to the tourism business and make it simpler for inhabitants to carry family members to the country for visits.
